The cheapest private pool in Siem Reap belongs to a tent. Templation's Jungloo – a canvas-and-timber glamping unit with its own pool listed in Booking.com's room facilities – opens around $101 a night, less than a third of what the town's pool villas cost. Four properties here sell a genuine private-pool category, and the gap between the cheapest and the most expensive is nearly tenfold.

Those are entry rates for a category that actually has a pool, checked against live Booking.com room facilities rather than the hotels' marketing. All four are within 20 minutes of the Angkor complex. The private pool villas hub runs the same test elsewhere in Asia.
Which Siem Reap private pool villa should you book?
For most trips, book Templation. It is the only property in town where a private pool is available at every price point – the Jungloo tent at the bottom, then one-, two- and three-bedroom Pool Villas – and it is the highest-volume, best-reviewed of the four. Check Templation availability – the Pool Villas were sold out on every set of dates we checked for two adults, so book early or take the Jungloo.
If you want adults-only quiet and a pool as standard, book Waka Villa. If you want the largest villa and a five-minute walk to the Old Market, book Shinta Mani Angkor. If the setting matters more than the room, book Zannier Phum Baitang – nothing else here puts you in a working rice paddy.

Templation
Templation is a garden property about 3.4 km from both Pub Street and the Angkor complex, and its pricing structure is unusual: the private pool is not reserved for the top categories.
- Jungloo – Tent – 35 m², from around $101. A "jungle igloo", the hotel's own tented glamping unit. Booking.com lists Private pool among its facilities. This is the cheapest genuine private pool in Siem Reap.
- 1-bedroom Pool Villa – 70 m², from around $270.
- 2-bedroom Pool Villa – 104 m², from around $357, sleeping four.
- 3-Bedroom Pool Villa – 130 m², from around $445, sleeping six or more.
The category to avoid is the Garden King/Twin at around $130. Its Booking listing describes "a private terrace and open pavilion" that "offers views of the pool" – that is the shared pool, seen from your terrace. It costs more than the Jungloo and gives you less.
Book this one if you want a private pool in Siem Reap without spending four figures, and book the Jungloo if the villas are gone. Check Templation rates – the Pool Villas showed no two-adult availability on any date set we tried, which is the clearest signal here that this property runs full.
Garden rooms have a pool view, not a pool. At Templation only the Jungloo tent and the 1-, 2- and 3-bedroom Pool Villas carry a private pool. The Garden King/Twin looks onto the shared one.
Waka Villa
The full name on Booking.com is WAKA VILLA Private Pool Resort & Spa – Adults Only, and both halves of that matter: every unit is a villa with its own pool, and the property is 16 and over.
Two categories, both one-bedroom and both confirmed with Private pool in Booking's facilities:
- Private Pool Villa – 128 m², from around $329, with an indoor hot tub alongside the pool.
- Private Pool Deluxe Villa – 161 m², from around $382.
It is the highest-rated property on this list on Booking.com, though on a much smaller review base than Templation or Shinta Mani – it is a recent opening, and its rates still carry an opening-promotion label. Take that as a reason to book now rather than a reason to doubt it.
Book this one if you want no children, no shared pool and a villa twice the size of Templation's entry one-bedroom. Check Waka Villa rates – opening rates on a small property are the one thing here that reliably disappears.
Shinta Mani Angkor
Two things get confused about this property. First, the name: it trades as Shinta Mani Angkor & Bensley Collection Pool Villas, but it is one hotel on one Booking listing – 115 rooms plus 10 Bensley Collection Pool Villas, all designed by Bill Bensley. Second, the room names: Booking sells the villas as Pool Villa King, Pool Villa Twin and Royal Pool Villa King, not as "Bensley Collection Pool Villa".
Those three are the only categories with a private pool, and they are enormous by Siem Reap standards:
- Pool Villa King / Pool Villa Twin – 156 m², from around $778 in the shoulder months, roughly double that in February.
- Royal Pool Villa King – 291 m², from around $975.
Everything below them – Standard, Deluxe and Superior rooms, the Junior Suite and the Executive Suite – lists pool view only. The Executive Suite at around $413 is a large, good room with no pool of its own.
The location is the strongest here: a five-minute walk to the Old Market and Pub Street, roughly ten minutes by car to Angkor Wat.
Book this one if you want the biggest villa in Siem Reap and want to walk to dinner rather than drive. Check Shinta Mani rates – ten villas in a 115-room hotel, and February roughly doubles the rate.
Zannier Phum Baitang
Phum Baitang means "green village", and the property is exactly that: 45 villas on stilts scattered through a working rice paddy outside town, with a 50-yard infinity pool at the center and lemongrass fields between the buildings.
Be careful which villa you book, because Booking.com's own property description spells the split out: "Some villas offer a private terrace while others are fitted with a private plunge pool."
- Pool Villa – 72 m², from around $957, confirmed with Private pool in Booking's room facilities.
- Terrace Villa – 60 m², from around $766. Booking lists a hot tub, not a pool. It is nearly $200 cheaper and it is not the same product.
This is the most expensive entry on the list and the least conventional. It is also the farthest from town, which is the point – you are paying for the paddy fields, the quiet and the Zannier service, not for proximity.
Book this one if the setting is the reason for the trip, and book the Pool Villa specifically. Check Zannier Phum Baitang rates – confirm the reservation says Pool Villa, not Terrace Villa.
The two that nearly made the list
Park Hyatt Siem Reap has 13 suites described as having a private garden and/or private plunge pool. Its Booking.com listing sells King Rooms, Twin Rooms, a Deluxe King, a Park King Suite and a Park Executive Suite – no category names a pool, and none of the ones we saw listed a private pool among their facilities. Excellent hotel, but you cannot reliably buy a private pool there through a booking site.
Jaya House River Park offers a private plunge pool in its Junior Pool Suites, and it is a genuinely well-loved 36-room boutique property. We could not find a working Booking.com listing for it, so there is no dependable link to send you to.
Both are worth a direct enquiry if you have your heart set on them. Neither gets a row above, because a row here means a pool category you can actually buy through the link.
About the budget "private pool villa" guesthouses
Search this query and Siem Reap returns a swarm of small three-star properties with the words built into their names – Amara Private Pool Villa, Saline Private Pool Villa, Isann Lodge Private Pool Villa, and others. Several genuinely do give every unit its own small pool, often for well under $100 a night.
They are a real option, and for a temple trip where you are out of the room from 05:00 they can be the sensible one. They are not the same product as the four above – smaller pools, thinner service, further out – and we have not verified them individually, so none of them appears in the grid. If price is the deciding factor, Templation's Jungloo is the version of this we can stand behind, at a rate that overlaps with the guesthouse tier.
When to go
November through February is the dry, cool season and the best window for temple touring – mornings around 22°C, low humidity, and the highest rates of the year. This is when the pool villas disappear first.
March through May turns hot, often above 35°C, which makes a private pool considerably more useful than it sounds in November. Rates drop and availability opens up – Shinta Mani's pool villas roughly halve between February and May.
June through October is the wet season: heavy afternoon downpours, green landscapes, the lowest prices and the thinnest crowds at Angkor.
Siem Reap–Angkor International Airport (SAI) is about 45 km from town, roughly 45–60 minutes by road – it replaced the old in-town airport, so allow more transfer time than older guides suggest.
