Phuket has more private-pool hotel villas than any other destination in Thailand, but quality varies widely. The five properties below all have pools confirmed as exclusive to the villa – not shared communal facilities and not plunge tubs marketed as pools. Prices are in USD, reflecting the predominant booking currency for Phuket's international market.

Trisara Villas & Residences Phuket
Trisara is a hill-set property above Nai Thon Bay in north-west Phuket where every villa has a private infinity pool positioned directly above the Andaman Sea. The Ocean View Pool Villa is the standard category; the Ocean View Pool Residence is larger with additional living space. In both, the pool and living terrace face due west toward the sea – the sunset from the water is the primary selling point.
The north-west location is 15 minutes from Phuket International Airport (HKT) and is significantly quieter than the central and south Phuket hotel corridors. The beach (Nai Thon) is small, sheltered and calm during the dry season. During the wet season (May–October), the north-west coast is better sheltered than west-coast beaches like Kamala and Surin, giving Trisara a slightly longer usable outdoor season than some competitors.
At $1,500+ per night, Trisara is the most expensive option on this list but also the most consistent in delivering the ocean-view private pool experience that defines high-end Phuket villa stays.
Keemala
Keemala is a jungle hillside property above Kamala village with 38 villas designed around four distinct architectural concepts: Clay Pool Cottages built into the earth, Tent Pool Villas in open canvas structures, Bird's Nest Pool Villas suspended on wooden columns in the forest canopy and Tree Pool Houses in the higher treeline. Every category has a private pool on the deck.
Pool sizes vary by category: Clay Pool Cottages have 21 m² pools; Tent Pool Villas, Bird's Nest and Tree Pool Houses have 30 m² pools. The Andaman Sea is visible from the higher nest and tree categories; the forest floor categories (Clay and Tent) are more private but have less sea view. Kamala Beach is 1.2 km from the property – a 5-minute drive.
Keemala's design is unlike any other Phuket property: a 30 m² pool on a canopy deck above the rainforest, with a butler, is a categorically different experience from a beachfront villa. For guests who want Phuket's private-pool villa format but in a jungle rather than a beach setting, Keemala is the clear recommendation.
Sri Panwa
Sri Panwa is a 40-acre private estate spread across the tip of Cape Panwa in south-east Phuket, with 55 villas distributed across the headland. The property's defining feature is the private pool specification: most villas have a 12 m infinity pool, which is larger than the standard plunge-pool format at comparable luxury hotels. Villas are standalone units with 360° views of the Andaman Sea from the cape position.
At $800/night for a standard Pool Villa, Sri Panwa offers the most accessible entry on this list for a full 12 m private pool rather than a plunge pool. The trade-off is the south-east Phuket location – Cape Panwa is 26 km from the airport (about 45 minutes), further than Nai Thon or Kamala properties, and the nearest notable beach (Panwa Beach) is narrow compared to west-coast options.
The estate includes Baba Nest (one of Phuket's most photographed rooftop bars), Baba Pool Club with its shared infinity pool, and two restaurants. Note that Sri Panwa markets itself as "Phuket's most exclusive luxury pool villa hotel" – an assertion that refers to the cape location and villa footprint rather than an editorial ranking.
Anantara Layan Phuket Resort
Anantara Layan is a resort property on Layan Beach in north-west Phuket where the Beachfront Layan Pool Villa (280 m²) is the private-pool accommodation category. The villa is a standalone unit with a private pool on the terrace, 2 minutes on foot from Layan Beach, which is a calm sheltered bay adjacent to Bang Tao Beach.
The Anantara brand sits in the mid-to-upper luxury tier – well-regarded for consistent service and facilities, priced below the Aman or Four Seasons tier. The resort has 59 villas in total; the Beachfront Layan Pool Villas are the premium category with direct beach orientation. Water sports (canoeing, windsurfing, snorkeling) and a spa are part of the property facilities.
The north-west Phuket location is 15 minutes from Phuket International Airport, adjacent to Laguna Phuket's hotel cluster – the most accessible private-pool villa area on the island for connecting flights or late arrivals. Minor Hotels loyalty program benefits apply here.
Rosewood Phuket
Rosewood Phuket is positioned on Tri Trang Beach in the Patong area of central Phuket – the most centrally located property on this list, 1 km from Patong's dining and nightlife and 25 km from the airport. The Lagoon Pool Pavilion and Garden Pool Pavilion are private-pool accommodation categories with terrace pools; the Pool Villa is the largest standalone category.
The Rosewood brand operates in the same upper tier as Aman and Four Seasons but with a slightly broader market position. This Phuket property is set into a bay above Tri Trang Beach, with the resort's lagoon and beachfront below. The central Phuket location makes Rosewood the most practical option for travelers who want private-pool villa accommodation but also want access to Phuket's restaurant and beach scene without a 45-minute commute.
Couples in particular rate the property highly. Rosewood rewards program benefits apply here via Marriott Bonvoy – note that Rosewood Hotels joined Marriott's portfolio via the acquisition route, so points and status benefits do apply at Rosewood properties.
When to go
Phuket's dry season runs November to April, with January and February typically the clearest months and least rain. The wet season (May–October) brings heavy afternoon showers and, occasionally, tropical storms; the west-coast beaches (Kamala, Nai Thon, Layan) are swimmable for most of the wet season but rougher than the dry. October and November are shoulder months with lower prices and sporadic rain. For Phuket specifically, November is often the best value month: dry season conditions begin, prices haven't reached December–January peak levels. For South-East Asian alternatives with private-pool villas, Bali has a deeper villa market centred on Ubud's jungle resorts.
