This is a shortlist, not a census. Santorini has dozens of hotels advertising private pools, and curated lists elsewhere run to 20-plus names. These five clear one specific bar: a pool – not a hot tub, not a jetted tub – that belongs to your unit alone, confirmed on the hotel's own room pages.
Which Santorini private pool villa should you book?
Book Canaves Oia Epitome. It is the only hotel on this list where the pool question never comes up: all 12 suite and villa categories have a private heated plunge pool or swimming pool. There is no category you can book by mistake.

If the Oia sunset address matters more than the size of the pool menu, book Andronis Luxury Suites – but book a named pool category, because more than half its rooms have a hot tub instead. If you want the view rather than the village, book Grace Hotel in Imerovigli, the highest village on the rim.
If you want the most enclosed pool of the five, book Astra Suites. And if the caldera view matters but €1,000 a night does not appeal, book Anteliz Suites in Fira, which opens at roughly half the rate of anything else here.

Canaves Oia Epitome
Canaves has operated in Oia since 1989, and Epitome is the group's flagship – a Small Luxury Hotels of the World member on the northwest rim, facing Thirasia across the flooded crater.
What separates it from every other hotel here is coverage: each of its 12 suite and villa categories comes with its own pool or heated plunge pool. The decision is about size and layout, never about whether you got the right room type.
The ladder runs in two tiers:

The plunge pools are heated, which is what makes a May or October booking here work. The air sits at a comfortable 20–25°C long after the unheated water on the island has gone cold.
Oia's cost is crowds. The sunset strip fills every evening from June, and rim properties are reached down stepped paths rather than by car. Epitome is set back from the busiest stretch, which helps. Andronis Luxury Suites
Andronis holds one of the best-known addresses in Oia, and it is also the clearest example of why this guide exists. Of its 15 suites and villas, seven come with an indoor or outdoor hot tub and no pool at all – the Junior, Deluxe, Premier, Grande, Honeymoon and Two Bedroom Suites. Read the category name before you book, not the hotel description.
The eight that do have a pool are worth the care. The Superior Suite with Private Pool is the entry point at 40 m² for two guests, with a private infinity pool on its terrace, and opens around €1,140 a night on the hotel's own booking engine.
Above it sit the Exceptional Suite with Private Pool, the Exclusive Suite with Infinity Pool, the Two Bedroom Villa with Private Pool, the White House with Private Pool, and the two Sunset Villas – Socrates and Aristotelis.
The hotel runs a seasonal calendar, opening in April and closing at the end of October, and it is highly rated on Booking.com with an almost perfect location score. Book this one if the address is the point and you are willing to pay for a named pool category. Grace Hotel Santorini
Grace sits in Imerovigli, the highest village on the caldera rim at roughly 300 m above the water. That is the whole argument for staying here rather than in Oia: you see the full basin and the far wall at once, without the evening foot traffic.
Six categories have a confirmed private heated plunge pool on the suite's own terrace – Junior Suite with Plunge Pool, Superior Suite with Plunge Pool, Grace Suite with Plunge Pool, VIP Suite with Plunge Pool, Infinity Suite with Pool and Deluxe Room with Plunge Pool. The long pool along the cliff edge is shared; the terrace pools are not.
The Junior Suite with Plunge Pool is the entry category and the cheapest way into a pool here, which still puts it at the top of this list on price. What you get for it beyond the view is an unusual amount of food and drink for a hotel this size: Varoulko Santorini as the fine-dining room, plus an attached winery with vineyard tours and wine release events on site.
Imerovigli is a 12-minute taxi from the airport, three minutes closer than Oia, and considerably quieter after dark. Book this one if the view is the reason you are coming and the budget is not the constraint. Check Grace Hotel rates.
Astra Suites
Astra is built into the Imerovigli cliff across seven levels in cave-house style, and its Pool Suite is the most genuinely enclosed pool on this list. The hotel's own wording is that the pool is "set back against the suite for maximum privacy and direct access from the suite."
That means a terrace that is yours, rather than a shelf overlooking the next room down. The suite runs about 55 m² and caps at two guests, and the Infinity Pool Suite is the same idea with the pool pushed to the terrace edge.
Direct rates quoted by the hotel put the Pool Suite around €1,000–1,130 a night and the Infinity Pool Suite fractionally below it, with a lower rate for members of its own loyalty scheme. For a group, The Astra Private Villa sits about 500 m from the main hotel with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a kitchen, a gym with sauna, an outdoor pool and an open-air jetted tub.
One detail to plan around: Astra states that the Pool Suite's pool is heated only during low and middle seasons. In midsummer that is irrelevant, but it changes what an April or late-October booking is worth. The hotel is highly rated on Booking.com, with its strongest marks for facilities and location. Anteliz Suites
Anteliz is 14 suites and villas on the cliff at Markou Nomikou in Fira, right on the unofficial border with Firostefani. That is close enough to Fira for the cable car, the bus terminus and a five-minute airport taxi, but far enough out to lose the town noise.
The Infinity Pool Suite has a private infinity pool running toward the volcano off a sheltered sun terrace. The Pool Suite is the same private-terrace-and-pool arrangement with a different aspect, and the Anteliz Private Villa scales it to a villa with its own pool.
Price is the argument. Entry into a private pool here starts around €450 a night, which is roughly half what the Imerovigli and Oia properties above open at for a comparable caldera outlook. The view from Fira is of the same caldera, from a slightly lower and more southerly angle, and the hotel is highly rated on Booking.com.
What you give up is infrastructure: no spa, no second restaurant, no butler. Fourteen units means the service is personal rather than resourced. Book this one if the caldera view matters and the resort trimmings do not. Check Anteliz Suites rates – 14 units on an island this busy is a very small number of rooms.
A private pool on Santorini is not automatically a heated one, and the two shoulder seasons this island is best in – April to early June, and October – are exactly when it matters. Canaves Oia Epitome and Grace heat their plunge pools; Astra heats the Pool Suite's pool in low and middle season only. Check the specific category, not the hotel, before booking outside July and August.
Why Santorini has fewer real pool suites than the lists suggest
Three things inflate the count. The first is vocabulary: an outdoor jetted tub photographs like a plunge pool and gets sold as one. At Andronis Luxury Suites, seven of 15 categories are hot tub only. At Katikies Santorini in Oia, 11 of 16 are jetted tubs, three have plunge pools and two – the Honeymoon Suite with Pool in Gea House and The Terrace Pool Suite in Pelagos House – have an actual private pool.
The second is brand sprawl. Katikies alone runs Katikies Santorini, Katikies Chromata in Imerovigli, Katikies Kirini, Katikies Villa and Katikies Garden, several booked as separate properties. Canaves runs the same pattern with Epitome, Oia Suites, Ena and Sunday.
Katikies Chromata genuinely has private-pool categories – the Master Pool Suite and the Chromata Infinity Pool Suite. But Katikies Santorini's two pool suites sit in two different houses with two different listings, which is why the brand is not a single row above.
The third is size. These are 14-to-50-unit cliff hotels where the pool categories are the top few rooms in the house. Santorini's real private pool inventory is a few hundred units across the whole caldera rim, which is why the good ones are gone by spring for August.
When to go
May, June and September are the best months for a pool suite here. Air temperatures reach 25–28°C, the sea holds at 22–24°C, and rates sit well below the July–August peak while every hotel on this list is fully open. September also thins the Oia sunset crowd noticeably.
July and August are peak on price and density both. If the dates are fixed, book pool categories three to four months out – at Canaves and Grace especially, where the pool rooms are a minority of the house. April and October still work, with the heating caveat above; most caldera hotels close from mid-November to late March.
Santorini Airport (JTR) is 5 km from Fira, 8 km from Imerovigli and 12 km from Oia, with direct summer flights from London, Manchester and Edinburgh and year-round connections through Athens.
For other Cyclades options, Mykonos has confirmed private pool suites at a similar standard; on the mainland, Costa Navarino trades cliffs for golf and beach. Crete and Rhodes suit a trip with a car and more than one beach.
Outside Greece, Cyprus runs the same April–October season at lower rates, and Croatia offers island and vineyard pool villas on the Adriatic.
