Naxos sells the cheapest genuine private pools in the Cyclades – a fraction of what the same thing costs on Santorini or Mykonos. The catch is that the island's list is shorter than the marketing suggests: several well-known Naxos names offer a hot tub, a shared pool, or no live availability at all. Three properties currently deliver, and Iphimedeia is where to start.

Three rows, not five. Naxos has more properties that advertise a private pool than actually sell one, and the section below names the ones that don't qualify and why – including two that used to appear on this list. The private pool villas hub applies the same test everywhere.
Which Naxos private pool should you book?
Book Iphimedeia. Its Luxury Suite with Seaview and Private Pool is the cheapest genuine private pool on the island at around €290, it sits in Naxos Chora within walking distance of the Portara and the port, and it carries a strong rating on a review base far deeper than anything else here. Check Iphimedeia availability – but read the category name carefully, because this hotel sells more hot tubs than pools.
If you want certainty rather than category-reading, book Naxian Utopia – every one of its seven categories has a private pool, so there is nothing to get wrong. If you want the highest-rated room on the island and don't mind a two-suite property, book Legato Spa Suites With Private Pool.

Iphimedeia Luxury Hotel and Suites
A boutique property in Naxos Chora, walkable to the Portara, the Kastro quarter and the ferry port, and the best-evidenced choice on the island – its rating rests on a substantial review base, where the other two here have only a handful of stays between them.
Two categories have a genuine private pool: the Luxury Suite with Seaview and Private Pool, a compact one-bedroom at around 24 m² from roughly €290, and the Two-Bedroom Golden Suite with Private Pool at around 74 m², which sleeps a family and runs about €80 more.
Everything else is the trap. Iphimedeia sells a Deluxe Suite with Hot Tub, a Suite with Hot Tub, and a Luxury Villa with Private Hot Tub – all cheaper, none with a swimming pool – plus a long list of Naxian, Superior and Junior suites that look onto the shared pool. It is the most category-dense booking page in this guide, and the word to search for is Pool, not Hot Tub.
Note the name: Expedia still lists the property as Iphimedeia Apartments & Suites, which is the same hotel.

Naxian Utopia Luxury Villas
The certainty pick. Naxian Utopia sits on a rocky hill at Stelida above Agios Prokopios, about 500 m from the beach and 1 km from the airport, and every category it sells has a private pool – seven of them, with no non-pool room on the page.
The ladder runs Junior Suite Garden View with Private Pool (54 m², from roughly €406), the honeymoon suite lake view with a private pool and outdoor jacuzzi, the Spa Suite Lake View with Private Pool and Steam Bath (60 m²), then two-bedroom Petit, Executive and Signature villas at 79–90 m², up to the three-bedroom Elegant Villa Sea View at around 200 m². Expedia's listing independently describes all guestrooms as having private pools.
The honest caveat is the rating: it is the lowest of the three here, on a modest review base, so there is less agreement about it than about Iphimedeia. The property also trades on Booking as Naxian Utopia Luxury Villas now, having dropped the "& Suites" some platforms still show.

Legato Spa Suites With Private Pool
The highest-rated stay on Naxos, and the smallest – two units, both with a private pool: the Suite with Private Pool at around 54 m² from roughly €496, and the Maisonette at around 69 m². The property name is doing honest work here; there is no non-pool category.
It sits in Naxos Chora with the port, the Portara and the old town on foot, and leans spa-and-couples rather than resort.
Two things to weigh. The rating is excellent but rests on a very small number of reviews, so treat it as promising rather than proven. And there is a separate, similarly named Legato Spa Suites property nearby without private pools – the listing you want has "With Private Pool" in the title.

Naxos has three separate traps: a hot tub sold as a pool, a shared pool sold as a "pool suite", and a listing with no bookable dates. All three appear on well-reviewed properties. Check that the category name contains the word "Pool" and that a live rate actually returns.
What doesn't qualify on Naxos, and why
This list is shorter than earlier versions of this guide, and shorter than most Naxos roundups. Four properties were checked and left out.
Naxian Collection is the hardest call. It is a Small Luxury Hotels member above Stelida with genuinely private-pool villas – the Honeymoon Villa with Private Pool, the Luxury Villa with Private Pool and the Elegant Villa all have one. But it also sells Premium and Grande Suites with Shared Pool, spelled out in the category name, and its current Booking.com rating has collapsed to the lowest of any property considered here, with facilities scoring worst of all. Recent independent reviews describe a property needing renovation and not justifying its rate. It is bookable, and the villas are real – but it can't be recommended on current guest feedback. Check the live rating yourself before booking.
Ariadne's Crown Luxury AstroConcept Suites in the inland village of Vívlos is well rated and its villas genuinely have private pools. It is out for a mechanical reason: no bookable dates returned across six checks spanning October 2026 to September 2027 – every one came back with no availability. Its Deluxe Villa and Superior Villa categories also don't carry a private pool. Worth trying direct if the setting appeals.
Pyrgianos Suites near Pyrgaki is listed on Booking under vacation homes rather than hotels, sells a single whole-property unit, has almost no reviews, and returned no availability on any date tested.
Villa Marandi at Stelida comes up constantly in Naxos searches and does not qualify at all: its own material describes a large pool with hydromassage and a children's pool – a shared resort pool, not a private one.
Why Naxos is the value play in the Cyclades
The reason to book a private pool here rather than one island over is arithmetic. Naxos's entry rate is a fraction of what a caldera-edge plunge pool costs on Santorini, and the island is large enough to have a real economy behind the tourism – a year-round population, working villages, farmland and the best beaches in the group.
What you give up is the postcard. There is no caldera and no Mykonos nightlife. Agios Prokopios, Agia Anna and Plaka are long, sandy and windy, and the interior is mountains and marble quarries rather than boutiques.
The practical consequence for booking: inventory is thin and it moves. Three qualifying properties across an island this size means shoulder-season dates go early, and two of the three are single-digit-unit operations.
For the islands that price at the other end, Santorini and Mykonos both have deeper private-pool inventory at much higher rates. On the mainland, Costa Navarino sells private-pool rooms at resort scale. The Greece hub covers every destination in the country.
When to go
May, June, September and early October are the months to book. Warm enough for the pool, calmer than midsummer, and well below July–August rates.
July and August bring the meltemi, the Aegean's north wind, which on Naxos is strong enough to matter – it makes the west-coast beaches a windsurfing destination and can make an exposed terrace pool less pleasant than it looks in photos. A sheltered courtyard pool in Chora is the safer bet in those months than a hilltop one at Stelida.
Naxos runs a longer season than the smaller Cyclades thanks to its size and year-round population, but the small properties here still close over winter – roughly November to March – and with only three qualifying options, that shortens the booking window further. Naxos Island National Airport (JNX) is 10 minutes from Chora and 1 km from Stelida; the ferry from Athens is the alternative.
