Denis Private Island
Denis Private Island is a 375-acre coral island roughly 30 minutes by light aircraft from Mahé, run entirely as a single lodge – there's no other development on the island. The standard Beach Cottages sit directly on the beachfront with a furnished veranda, an open-air courtyard shower, and private sun loungers steps from the water.
The Deluxe and Beachfront Spa Cottage tiers add space and, at the Spa tier, a personal massage pavilion in the private bathroom courtyard. The top-tier Beach Villa is a 325m² unit with its own private plunge pool, for travelers who want that in addition to the island's beaches. Rates are all-inclusive, covering meals across the resort's restaurants, though a Seychelles Rupee environmental levy (roughly €7 per person per night) is billed separately.
Other Seychelles private islands to watch
Fregate Island Private, a granite island long known for its Private Pool Villas, was closed for renovation at the time of writing and is expected to reopen later in 2026 – and even then, its villas are typically bookable on request through the resort or a travel agent rather than instant online booking. It isn't included above because it doesn't currently meet this guide's bar for direct, confirmed online booking; worth revisiting once it reopens.
When to go
The Seychelles has a fairly mild climate year-round, but April to May and October to November are the calmest shoulder-season windows, avoiding both the windier southeast trade season (June–September) and the northwest monsoon (December–March), which brings more rain.
July and August are the coolest, driest months on the trade-wind side, popular for diving and snorkeling visibility, though winds can affect some beaches. December to February is warm and increasingly humid, coinciding with the Northern Hemisphere winter holiday peak.
