The British Virgin Islands have three confirmed properties with a genuine private pool, not a shared resort pool: Rosewood Little Dix Bay's Grand One-Bedroom Pool Suite, Oil Nut Bay's boat-or-helicopter-access villas, and Peter Island Resort's Hawk's Nest villa on its own private island.

Rosewood Little Dix Bay
Rosewood Little Dix Bay, on Virgin Gorda's calm, reef-protected bay, keeps the Caribbean's classic barefoot-luxury reputation while offering a confirmed Grand One-Bedroom Pool Suite – around 705 sqft with its own private plunge pool, separate bedroom and living room. Its beachfront villas go further, adding two or three bedrooms alongside a private pool and dedicated barbecue and dining pavilion.
The resort's 81 total accommodations mostly consist of standard rooms and suites without a private pool, so the Grand One-Bedroom Pool Suite and the beachfront villas are the two categories worth booking specifically for this feature.
Oil Nut Bay
Oil Nut Bay occupies 400 acres on the remote eastern tip of Virgin Gorda, reachable only by boat or helicopter, with one- to six-bedroom villas and suites spread across the property, many of them with a private pool. Rates start lower than Rosewood Little Dix Bay or Peter Island for a one-bedroom unit, though the resort's exclusivity and transfer logistics add to the total trip cost.
Because private pools aren't confirmed across every villa in the community, it's worth checking the specific unit's listing for a private pool before booking, rather than assuming it by default.
Peter Island Resort
Peter Island Resort is the sole resort on its own privately owned island, reached by the resort's own ferry from Tortola. Its Hawk's Nest villa, overlooking Deadman's Bay and the Yacht Club marina, sleeps up to 10 across three bedrooms around a private plunge pool – the smaller of the resort's two marquee villas, with the 6-bedroom Falcon's Nest estate adding an infinity pool and hot tub for larger groups.
Both villas are rented as a whole unit rather than by the room, making this the pick in this guide for a multi-family or multi-couple group wanting a private island experience alongside a private pool.
When to go
December through April is the BVI's dry season and most popular window, with the calmest seas for boat transfers to Oil Nut Bay and Peter Island. May–November is quieter and cheaper, with more rain and a hurricane risk that peaks August–October. There's no direct international airport on Virgin Gorda or Peter Island; most travelers fly into Tortola's Terrance B. Lettsome International Airport (EIS) or San Juan, Puerto Rico, then connect by ferry, boat or helicopter depending on the resort.
