Every hotel in Kalkan with a genuinely private pool is a small, owner-led boutique property – the largest has 52 rooms and the smallest has 10. There's no 300-room resort option on this stretch of the Turkish Mediterranean, which changes how you book: at three of the four hotels below, only certain suite categories come with a pool of their own, and picking the wrong category means swimming in the shared one. Entry rates run from about £150 to £350 a night.

Which Kalkan hotel should you book?
If you want the pool itself to be the reason you remember the trip, book Villa Mahal's Pool Room. It's a 30 m² room attached to a private 11-meter crescent-shaped heated infinity pool, and the whole footprint runs to roughly 100 m² once you count the terrace and the private sauna. Check Villa Mahal availability before comparing anything else – the hotel has 13 rooms in total and exactly two of them have a private pool, so this is the single scarcest room on the list.
If you'd rather not think about categories at all, book Likya Pavilion. Every one of its 10 suites has its own infinity pool, so there's no wrong booking to make – and it's the cheapest entry rate here. If you want a private pool plus a private beach cabana, book Likya Gardens. And if you want space and a full spa-and-beach-club operation behind you, book Lures Hotel, where the suites are the largest in Kalkan by a wide margin.

Villa Mahal
Villa Mahal is an adults-only, 13-room hotel built into the hillside above Kalkan Bay, among olive, lime and fig trees that step down toward the water. The room to book is the Pool Room, and its numbers explain the price: a 30 m² room and a 5 m² bathroom open onto a 35 m² terrace and a private 11-meter crescent-shaped heated infinity pool of roughly 30 m². Add it up and one guest room controls around 100 m² of hotel. A private sauna comes with it.
Know what you're not getting if you book anything else. Only the Pool Room and the Cliff House have private pools – every other category at Villa Mahal uses the hotel's shared 17-meter infinity pool, which is the one that appears in most photographs of this hotel. Below the rooms, a Beach Club with floating platforms puts you straight into Kalkan Bay.

Likya Pavilion
This is the simplest booking in Kalkan. Likya Pavilion is adults-only with 10 suites, and every one of them has its own private infinity pool – there's no non-pool category to accidentally book. The split is six Loft Pool Suites and four Pavilion Pool Houses, sitting on the west shore of Kalkan Bay, a five-minute walk from Kalkan harbor.
The scale cuts both ways. Ten suites means it stays quiet and you're never queuing for anything, but it also means the on-site facilities are modest next to Lures Hotel's spa and beach club. Likya Pavilion handles that with a borrowed asset: guests get complimentary access to the Beach Club at Likya Gardens, its sister hotel, so you get sea access without the property having to build it.
At around £150 to start, it's also the lowest entry rate on this list. Book this one if you want a guaranteed private pool without studying the room chart. Check Likya Pavilion rates – ten suites is the entire inventory, and there's no second-choice category to fall back on.
Likya Gardens
Likya Gardens is the couples pick, and the room to ask for by name is the Garden Pool Suite called Limyra – a sea-facing private infinity pool with floor-to-ceiling sliding doors opening from the suite onto its own terrace. Several of the hotel's suites have a private pool, but they aren't identical and they aren't all named the same way, so name the category when you book rather than filtering for "pool".
The property also runs four villas with hotel services, in two- and three-bedroom configurations, aimed at families or two couples traveling together. These don't include a pool of their own – instead they come with a private cabana at the hotel's Beach Club, which is the trade you're making for the extra bedrooms.
Likya Gardens holds one of the strongest Booking.com ratings of any hotel in Kalkan, and the garden setting and private beach area are what guests write about. It sits about a kilometer back from Kalkan's public beach, with the Beach Club serving as its direct route to the sea. Book this one if you want a private pool and a private patch of shoreline. Lures Hotel
Lures is the outlier here on every measure of size. It's a 52-room waterfront hotel on Kalamar Bay, and its private-pool suites are far larger than anything else in Kalkan. The Senior Suite runs 130–200 m² – two bedrooms, a living room, a kitchenette and two bathrooms – attached to a private terrace and pool area of 60–190 m², facing either the garden or partway out to sea. The Junior Suite is the smaller entry point at 90–100 m² plus a 45 m² terrace with its own private pool.
Those ranges are wide because the suites genuinely differ from one another, so the number that matters is the one on the specific unit you're offered. Standard rooms at Lures have no private pool at all.
Scale also buys facilities the boutique properties can't run: a 234 m² outdoor infinity pool, a 48 m² indoor pool in the wellness center, an extensive beach club, a spa, a sauna and a fitness center. The trade is position – Kalamar Bay is a short taxi or a walk of roughly 25 minutes from Kalkan's center. Book this one if you want a two-bedroom private-pool suite with a full resort behind it. At three of these four hotels, most rooms have no private pool. Villa Mahal has two qualifying units out of 13, Likya Gardens names its pool suites individually, and Lures restricts pools to its Senior and Junior Suites. Filtering an OTA for "Kalkan" and "pool" will return all of them. Book the named category, not the hotel – Likya Pavilion is the only property here where every room qualifies.
Why Kalkan's private pools come in 10-room hotels
Look at the room counts: 13, 10, 12 and 52. Kalkan has no large-resort tier at all, and that shapes what a private pool means here. At a big Mediterranean resort, a private-pool room is one line in a chart of thirty categories. In Kalkan it's often most of what the hotel is – Likya Pavilion's entire business is ten suites with ten pools.
That's why the booking mechanics matter more here than almost anywhere else covered on this site. Small inventory doesn't restock. When Villa Mahal's two private-pool units are taken for your week, there is no equivalent room in the building, and the nearest substitute is a different hotel in a different bay.
It also explains the price spread. Around £150 at Likya Pavilion and around £350 at Villa Mahal buy the same core thing – a pool nobody else uses – and the gap is paying for position, adults-only quiet and that particular 11-meter crescent. Decide which of those you're actually buying before you compare rates.

When to go
May, June and September are Kalkan's best months. The sea and the pools are warm, the hillside is walkable in the middle of the day, and rates sit well below peak at all four hotels. July and August bring the highest temperatures and the highest prices, and they hit the smallest properties hardest – ten suites and 13 rooms don't absorb demand.
Kalkan's season runs roughly April through October, and most of these owner-led hotels close for the winter, so a February booking isn't a cheaper version of the same trip. It's not available at all.
Whichever window you choose, book the room category before you book the flight. Dalaman (DLM) is about a 1 hour 45 minute drive and Antalya (AYT) around 2.5 hours, and both airports have far more capacity than Kalkan has private-pool suites.
