The Greater Kruger area has two confirmed safari lodges bookable through standard travel sites where a genuine private plunge pool comes with the suite. Royal Malewane and Thornybush Game Lodge, both in Thornybush Private Game Reserve on Kruger's unfenced western boundary, are the two confirmed exceptions – most of the region's other famous private-pool lodges, including Singita, Londolozi and andBeyond, only take direct bookings rather than listing on Booking.com or Expedia.

Royal Malewane
Royal Malewane, in Thornybush Private Game Reserve on Kruger's open, unfenced western edge, is one of a small handful of ultra-luxury safari lodges where every suite carries a confirmed private plunge pool as standard, alongside in-suite spa treatments and a dedicated butler. Rates run per person and cover accommodation, all meals and drinks, and twice-daily guided game drives.
This is the most complete confirmed private-pool safari product in the Kruger area, and one of the very few at this tier that lists directly on Booking.com – most comparable lodges (Singita, Londolozi, andBeyond) require booking through their own site or a safari specialist instead.
Thornybush Game Lodge
Thornybush Game Lodge, in the same private reserve as Royal Malewane, has run safari trips for over 60 years and carries a confirmed rim-flow plunge pool on its Family Suites and other suite categories, each opening onto a private deck facing the bush. Rates are roughly a third of Royal Malewane's, still all-inclusive of meals, drinks and game drives.
This is the more accessible confirmed private-pool safari stay in the Greater Kruger area, and one of the rare Thornybush-area lodges that also lists on Expedia and Hotels.com alongside Booking.com.
When to go
May through September is Kruger's dry season and the best window for game viewing: sparse vegetation and animals concentrating around waterholes make wildlife easier to spot, and daytime temperatures stay comfortable for lounging at the plunge pool between drives. October–April is the wet, green season – lush scenery and newborn animals, but thicker bush that makes sightings harder and hot, humid days. Hoedspruit Airport (HDS) is the closest gateway to Thornybush Private Game Reserve, 30–45 minutes from the lodges; Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport (MQP) is a further option. This is a malaria-risk region, so most travelers take anti-malarial precautions before visiting.
