Kos punches above its weight for swim-up rooms. The island has some of Greece's most distinctive pool designs – a 3,000 m² wrap-around pool at TUI BLUE Palazzo del Mare, a sandy-bottom lagoon at D'Andrea, and a family lake house setup at Blue Lagoon Village. Most resorts sit within 25 minutes of the airport. This guide gives you the exact room to book, who each property suits, and what to pay in 2026.

TUI BLUE Palazzo del Mare
The most architecturally distinctive swim-up resort on Kos. The Swim-up Rooms give access to a large pool that wraps around the entire complex, interlinking all ground-floor rooms in a continuous circuit of water. Adults-only with half-board as standard. The sheer scale of the pool – and the quality of the Italian-inspired design – makes this the most striking swim-up experience on the island.
Astir Odysseus Kos Resort & Spa
Family-friendly at Tigaki, one of Kos's best sandy beaches. The Executive Double Room Sharing Pool is positioned so the swim-up pools are just steps from the beach – on a calm day you can hear the sea from the water, which is a rare combination. Good for families who want swim-up access alongside direct beach access rather than having to choose between the two.
Blue Lagoon Village
The family-specific swim-up pick. The Twin Limited Sea View Swim Up at Blue Lagoon Village has a ground-floor terrace opening directly onto the shared swim-up pool. Ground floor placement and a secure interior layout make it practical for families with young children. All-inclusive included. Kefalos in the southwest is 15 minutes from the airport but has one of Kos's quietest beaches – a good pick for families with young children who want calm over nightlife.
When to go
May, June and September are the best months – warm sea, far fewer crowds and prices well below July–August peak. July and August are Kos at its busiest: the island has a strong nightlife scene and the main resort strip gets lively. For swim-up room calm, stick to shoulder season or choose Kefalos in the southwest which is quieter year-round. One note: Turkey is visible from most Kos beaches – day trips to Bodrum run regularly from the harbour.
