Hua Hin Marriott Resort and Spa
The pick when you want no compromises. The Marriott sits directly on Hua Hin Beach, and it's built around five outdoor pools rather than one central lagoon – so even a full house doesn't feel crowded. A beachfront restaurant and a line of sun loungers are your link to the sand.

Centara Grand Beach Resort and Villas Hua Hin
The history booking. This is the Railway Hotel, built in 1923 by the State Railway of Thailand as the country's first beach resort, when Hua Hin was becoming the royal family's seaside retreat. Its white colonial main building still stands, with topiary gardens running down to the sand.
The name has changed more than once. The Booking.com address still reads sofitelcentralhuahinresort from its years as a Sofitel – same hotel, same beach. Newer wings and villas now surround the original building.
It's in central Hua Hin, so dinner is a walk away. Book this one if you want the one hotel in town with a century of story behind it. Check Centara Grand rates – and ask which wing your room is in, because the historic block and the newer buildings aren't the same experience.
Anantara Hua Hin Resort
The newest rooms on the beach. Anantara Hua Hin launched the entire Anantara brand in 2001 – the resort calls itself the birthplace of Anantara. On 1 November 2025 it relaunched after a complete renovation – 171 rooms and suites, a refreshed main pool and a new adults-only lagoon pool with its own bar.
Families weren't forgotten. The renovation brought a revamped kids' club and a new mini farm. The sea frontage was extended too.
The catch is location. Town is a 15-minute drive away. Book this one if you want the freshest room in Hua Hin and don't mind a taxi into town. Check Anantara Hua Hin rates – from around $117, which is low for rooms this new.
Hyatt Regency Hua Hin
The family booking. The Hyatt Regency sits directly on the beach in Nong Kae, south of central Hua Hin. It has three outdoor pools, big gardens and beachfront dining, with archery, yoga and mini golf to fill the gaps between swims.
Adults get a reason to stay, too. The Barai spa sits on the same grounds.

Dusit Thani Hua Hin
Not actually in Hua Hin. The Dusit Thani sits in Cha-am, about 10 km north of Hua Hin's town center, and that distance is exactly why people book it. The grounds are huge, with lily ponds, an ornamental lake and two outdoor pools – including a saltwater garden pool.
It leans hard into wellness. Devarana Wellness runs the spa, Nómada is the open-fire beach grill, and the kids' club and organic farm keep younger guests busy.

Hilton Hua Hin Resort and Spa
The walk-everywhere booking. The Hilton stands on Naresdamri Road in central Hua Hin, with direct beach access on one side and the town's restaurant strip on the other. The night market and pier are a walk, not a ride.
Upper floors look out over the Gulf of Thailand. The price of the location is a busier beach out front than the resorts further out.

"Hua Hin" in a hotel's name doesn't mean it's in Hua Hin. The Dusit Thani Hua Hin, for one, sits in Cha-am, about 10 km north of town. Check the address before you book a "central" stay.

The Standard, Hua Hin
The design-led alternative. The Standard, Hua Hin opened in December 2021 as the brand's first property in Thailand. It sits on Naresdamri Road in central Hua Hin, right on the beach. Rooms run from standard kings up to private pool villas.

Baan Bayan, Rest Detail and The Rock
The small-hotel route. These three are boutique hotels, not big resorts, and all three sit directly on the beach.

Two popular names that aren't on the sand
Mövenpick Asara Resort & Spa Hua Hin is the suites-only option, north of the center near the airport. All 96 units are suites or pool villas from 120 m², and the 150 m² Private Pool Villa has its own plunge pool. Its oceanfront villas face the Gulf, but Booking's own listing puts the nearest beach about 400 m (1,350 ft) from the resort, so it doesn't pass this guide's on-the-sand test. The Peri Hotel Hua Hin is another frequent search. Its own pages place it on Petchkasem Road in Nong Kae, with garden and pool views and "easy access to the beach" rather than a beachfront plot.
Town or resort: the only real decision in Hua Hin
Every hotel here is on the same Gulf of Thailand coastline. So the choice isn't really about the beach. It's about whether you want Hua Hin the town or Hua Hin the resort stay.
Pick town, and it's the Hilton or Centara Grand – both a walk from the night market. Pick resort, and it's the Marriott, Anantara, Hyatt Regency or Dusit Thani, each giving up walkability for space. If you're torn, the Marriott is the one that handles both best.

When to go
December through April is the time to book. December to February is the coolest, driest stretch, and it's also peak season – rates are at their highest. March and April get hotter but stay dry.
Hua Hin's rain doesn't follow the rest of Thailand. September through November is the wet stretch on this coast, with October the wettest month. That's the reverse of Phuket and Krabi, where the heavy rain runs roughly May to October.
Whatever the month, watch the calendar. Hua Hin is Bangkok's weekend beach, about three hours away by road. Friday and Saturday nights, plus Thai public holidays, fill fast and cost more. Book those dates first.
