Which Kefalonia private pool villa should you book?
Book Celestial All Suites. It is the only one of the three where the private pool is the design premise rather than a top category – the suites are built around their plunge pools, it is adults-only, and Trapezaki's cove is a walk downhill. Check Celestial availability first – it is a handful of suites, and the pool categories are the ones that go.
If you want the sea at the bottom of the garden rather than a view of it, book White Rocks in Lassi. If you would rather not drive out every evening – or you are traveling with children – book Electra Kefalonia, which has the spa, the restaurant and the shortest airport transfer.

Celestial All Suites
Celestial sits in the hills above Trapezaki on the south coast, an adults-only boutique where the private pool is not an upgrade tier but the reason the building exists.
Two categories carry it: the Honeymoon Suite Sea View with Cozy Private Pool and the Junior Suite Sea View with private cozy pool. Each opens onto a plunge pool that is yours alone, with the Ionian below.
The scale is deliberately small – a handful of suites, a compact spa with sauna, one restaurant. That is the appeal and the limitation in the same sentence.
Board is breakfast-only, so plan on driving out for dinner; Trapezaki's cove is a short walk downhill and the airport is about 20 minutes away.

White Rocks Hotel Kefalonia
White Rocks occupies a hillside above the Lassi seafront with gardens running down to its own beach area, a short drive from Argostoli. It is the seafront option on this list.
The Suite Infinity Pool is the private-pool category – a private pool and furnished balcony, set apart from the hotel's main outdoor pool and its beachfront bars.
Lassi is the most convenient base on the island: minutes from both the airport and the capital, with Platis Gialos and Makris Gialos beaches close by.
This is a resort rather than a boutique, so expect more people and more facilities than at Celestial – with the sea genuinely at the bottom of the garden rather than in the view.

Electra Kefalonia
Electra is a five-star beachfront spa hotel at Svoronata, a few hundred meters from Ammes Beach and under a mile from Kefalonia Airport – the shortest transfer of the three by a wide margin.
Two categories have a pool of their own: the Executive Suite with a Private Pool and the smaller Executive Room with private pool, each with the pool on its terrace.
It is also the most self-contained. The spa, sauna, hot tub and restaurant mean you can stay put in the evenings, which the other two do not really allow.
At around €205 it is the cheapest confirmed private pool on the island, and the only one of the three that suits families as readily as couples.

At all three hotels the private pool sits in one or two named categories, not across the house – most rooms at each property use the shared pool. Book the exact category name (Suite Infinity Pool, Executive Suite with a Private Pool, Honeymoon Suite Sea View with Cozy Private Pool) rather than the hotel, and check it appears on your confirmation.
Why all three are in the same corner of the island
Kefalonia's famous places – Myrtos beach, Assos, Fiskardo – are in the north, and none of them has a confirmed private-pool hotel. All three properties here cluster in the southwest around Argostoli, Lassi and the airport.
That is partly infrastructure: the airport, the capital and the island's flattest buildable coast are all in this corner. The north is mountain road and cliff village.
For the trip, it means one thing. You will be driving to see the island rather than staying in the middle of it – Myrtos is roughly an hour north of Lassi, Fiskardo further still.
That is not a reason to stay elsewhere; there is nowhere else with a private pool. It is a reason to budget for a rental car from day one.
When to go
May–June and September–October are Kefalonia's best months. Warm enough to swim daily, with the beaches and cypress hills at their most comfortable and none of the July–August pressure.
July and August bring the heat and the crowds together. The pool categories at all three hotels are limited in number and go first, so peak dates need booking well ahead.
Most properties run roughly April to October and reduce services in winter, so the shoulder season here is the season.
Kefalonia Airport (EFL) is small and central – 5 minutes to Electra, about 15 to White Rocks in Lassi, about 20 to Celestial.
For the other Ionian islands, Lefkada runs entirely on independent villa properties and Zakynthos clusters its four on the north coast; Corfu is the largest market of the four. On the mainland, Costa Navarino covers the Peloponnese, and Crete adds the biggest island's options.
