The Taaras Beach & Spa Resort
The Taaras Beach & Spa Resort, on Pulau Redang's marine-park coastline, confirms two private-pool tiers: a standard Pool Suite, and the standalone Taaras Villa – a clifftop, 3,000+ square meter, five-bedroom residence with its own private infinity pool, home gym, breakfast chef and butler service.
The wider 125-room resort spans five room categories in total, with the private-pool tiers reserved specifically for the Pool Suite and Taaras Villa.
Japamala Resort by Samadhi
Japamala Resort by Samadhi, Tioman Island's only luxury boutique resort at just 16 rooms across 11 acres of rainforest, confirms private plunge pools across several Sarang villa categories – Hillside, Beach and Seaview – plus the two-bedroom Penghulu's House, each distinct from any shared pool areas.
This is the highest-rated confirmed private-pool hotel in this guide's Malaysia east-coast-islands cluster, and an adults-only property (age 12 and above).
When to go
March through September is the dry, boat-friendly season for both Redang and Tioman, with calm seas for the boat crossing and clear water for diving and snorkeling. Both islands sit within marine parks that officially close to tourism during the Northeast Monsoon, roughly November through February, when most resorts close entirely. Redang is reached via Kuala Terengganu Airport (TGG) plus a boat transfer; Tioman has its own small airport (TOD) with limited flights, or a longer boat transfer from Mersing on the mainland.
