Koh Phangan has three confirmed hotels where a private pool comes with the room, not as a rare upgrade: Anantara Rasananda, where every one of its 64 villas has its own plunge pool; Panviman Resort's clifftop Pool Villa with a private infinity pool; and Santhiya Resort's 115 m² Sea View Pool Villa. All three sit on or above Thong Nai Pan Noi Beach, on the island's quieter northeast coast, well away from Haad Rin's Full Moon Party crowd.

Panviman Resort Koh Phangan
Panviman Resort sits on a headland above Thong Nai Pan Noi Beach, and its Clifftop Pool Villa is the resort's dedicated private-pool category – roughly 50 m² with a king bed, Thai-style furnishings, and a private terrace built around its own infinity pool, looking out over the valley and bay.
It's the most accessible entry point on this list, and one of the few clifftop pool villas confirmed on Koh Phangan rather than at beach level. The resort doesn't list a specific villa-tier rate on its own site or the major OTAs, so the price here is an estimate based on the property's general room pricing – confirm the current rate before booking.
Santhiya Koh Phangan Resort & Spa
Santhiya Koh Phangan Resort & Spa's Sea View Pool Villa is a 115 m² stand-alone unit – the most spacious confirmed private-pool villa on the island – with a separate living area, one double bedroom, and a private pool on its own patio, plus a day bed and outdoor bathtub.
The resort caps the room at three adults, or two adults and two children, making it one of the few confirmed options here that comfortably fits a small family alongside couples. As with Panviman, the resort doesn't publish the exact villa-tier rate online; the figure here is estimated from the property's general pricing.
Anantara Rasananda Koh Phangan Villas
Anantara Rasananda sits directly on Thong Nai Pan Noi Beach, and is the most complete private-pool product on this list: all 64 rooms and villas – from the entry Pool Suite up through Lagoon and Garden Pool Villas – include a private plunge pool as standard, not reserved for a single premium tier.
Unlike the other two hotels here, Rasananda's pricing is confirmed directly through Booking.com rather than estimated, with rates from roughly $500 a night for the entry Pool Suite. It's the most expensive of the three, but the only one where every category, not just the top rung, delivers the private pool.
When to go
Koh Phangan sits on the Gulf of Thailand side, with a different rhythm from the Andaman coast (Phuket, Krabi): the driest, most reliable months run roughly January to September, while October and November bring the region's heaviest rain – the opposite of the Andaman monsoon further south. December through April is the most popular window, combining good weather with high season rates.
There's no airport on Koh Phangan itself. Most travelers fly into Koh Samui or Surat Thani on the mainland, then take a ferry – anywhere from 30 minutes to around 2 hours depending on the pier and route, with Thong Nai Pan's hotels typically arranging their own transfer from the pier.
