Eagle Beach, Palm Beach or Baby Beach?

For space, Eagle Beach. Aruba's tourism board calls it the widest beach on the island, and most of Aruba's sea-turtle nests are found there. The hotels behind it are low-rise, and the famous fofoti trees lean over its sand.

For energy, Palm Beach. It's a two-mile strip of high-rise hotels, casinos, piers and water-sports concessions, and its calm water suits swimmers and snorkelers. For the most sheltered water, Baby Beach – a half-moon lagoon on the southern tip, shallow enough to wade out a long way and still touch bottom.

On Eagle Beach

The couples' booking. Bucuti & Tara is adults-only, 18 and older, and sits directly on Eagle Beach. Rooms run from Bungalow and Junior Suites up to the Tara Suites and Penthouse Suites – and the four wooden palapas on the beach belong to the four penthouses.

On Palm Beach

The St. Regis Aruba Resort

The luxury booking. The St. Regis opened on Palm Beach in January 2025 with 252 keys – 200 rooms and 52 suites – a casino, an Akira Back restaurant and direct beachfront access. It's among the top-rated resorts on this list with Booking.com guests.

Hilton Aruba Caribbean Resort and Casino

The family booking with restaurants on foot. The Hilton sits on 15 acres on Palm Beach with a wide stretch of sand, two outdoor pools and a casino. It's room-only, so Palm Beach's restaurants become part of the trip.

Riu Palace Antillas

The adults-only all-inclusive on the strip. Riu Palace Antillas has been on Palm Beach since 2014, 18 and over, with 24-hour all-inclusive, a casino and a nightclub. It's big and lively rather than intimate.

On Baby Beach

Secrets Baby Beach Aruba

The calm-water booking. Secrets sits on Baby Beach, a shallow half-moon lagoon at Aruba's southern tip, with direct beachfront access and an adults-only (18+) all-inclusive formula. It's the most sheltered swimming water of any resort on this list.

Riu Palace Aruba is the all-inclusive family pick on Palm Beach. It reopened on July 31, 2026 after a full renovation, directly on the sand, and welcomes all ages. JOIA Aruba by Iberostar is the all-inclusive option on Eagle Beach: Iberostar's first Aruba resort, opened in December 2024, with 240 suites facing the ocean. It sits across J.E. Aruba's beach rules: every beach is public

Every beach in Aruba is public by law, under the National Ordinance for Public Waters and Beaches. A resort can't keep you off the sand in front of it – and it can't keep its own guests' spots either.

The palapas on public beaches are free and first-come, first-served. A 2015 court ruling made it explicit that leaving towels or chairs under one doesn't reserve it, and Aruba's Beach Police repeated the point to a resort in February 2026. Palapas built on resort property are different: those are for guests and can be charged for. In high season, the shaded spots by the water go early.

What the all-inclusive premium buys in Aruba

The highest-rated resorts on this list – Bucuti & Tara, the St. Regis, Manchebo – are room-only. The all-inclusives here are a convenience choice, not a quality upgrade. On Palm Beach, restaurants are a short walk from your room.

So pay for all-inclusive where it saves you a taxi: with kids at Riu Palace Aruba on Palm Beach, or at Baby Beach, where there's little else nearby. Otherwise book the beach and eat out – Bucuti & Tara for couples, the Hilton for families.

When to go

Aruba is dry year-round – around 500 mm of rain a year, with a short rainy season from September to January. December through April is the peak season for prices; February is the most expensive month at resorts like the St. Regis and the Hilton.

September and October are the cheapest months at both.
