Which Antigua beachfront resort should you book?
For most couples, book Keyonna Beach. It's built for couples only, the dining is entirely à la carte, and every couple gets a reserved Bali bed on the sand. Check Keyonna Beach availability early – winter is peak season.
For more polish and a bigger beach, book Galley Bay. For the most restaurants, book Sandals Grande. With children, book Carlisle Bay – or Curtain Bluff if you want everything included.

Which part of Antigua has the best beaches?
For calm water, the northwest. The official tourism board describes Dickenson Bay as the island's most developed beach, with shallow, calm water, white sand and water sports. Sandals Grande sits here.
For families, Long Bay in the east. The board says Long Bay is completely protected by its reef, which makes it a good choice for families and for snorkeling. Pineapple Beach Club is on it.
For a famous view, Half Moon Bay. The board calls it one of the world's ultimate beaches, now a national park – it's also a kite-surfing spot on the Atlantic side. No resort on this list sits on it.

Some of Antigua's luxury resorts close in late summer. Curtain Bluff lists a closure from August 1 to October 21, and Carlisle Bay from late July to mid-October. Check your dates before you plan an August or September trip.
On the west coast
Keyonna Beach
The couples' booking. Keyonna sits on Turner's Beach at Johnson's Point and calls itself an adults-only boutique hotel designed exclusively for couples. Dining is entirely à la carte, with no buffets.
Each couple gets a reserved Bali bed on the sand, per its Expedia listing. The cottage categories add a plunge pool.

Galley Bay Resort and Spa
Adults-only, with more space. Galley Bay is an adults-only all-inclusive on a sweeping white-sand beach, with a lagoon behind it. Its Expedia listing counts 98 rooms along about half a mile of beach.
The signature rooms are the Gauguin Cottages, set between the beach and the lagoon, each with its own plunge pool. The beachfront rooms and suites open toward the sand.

Sandals Grande Antigua
The big couples' resort. Sandals Grande sits on Dickenson Bay, the calm, shallow beach in the northwest, and it's open – older guides repeat a 2017 renovation closure. It's for couples only.
Sandals lists 11 specialty restaurants, from sushi to pizza. Expedia counts 373 rooms, from beachfront cottages to Rondoval suites with private garden pools.

Jolly Beach Antigua
The budget booking. Jolly Beach is a three-star all-inclusive on the west coast at Jolly Harbour. Guests must be 12 or older, per tour operator Destination2.
Caribbean Journal has called it the Caribbean's best all-inclusive value, with two pools and the island's longest bar. There's a swim-up bar too.

Pineapple Beach Club
Adults only, on the quiet side. Pineapple Beach Club sits on a quarter-mile beach on Long Bay, which its operator describes as reef-protected and shallow, with snorkeling trails. The minimum age is 16, per Expedia.
There are three pools and five restaurants, and it's run by Elite Island Resorts.

On the south coast
Carlisle Bay
The family booking. Carlisle Bay is a suite resort on the south coast, with 87 rooms and suites, per Expedia. There's a kids' club, and families can add an all-inclusive plan.
It closes for part of the off-season – its Expedia listing shows late July to mid-October – so check your dates.

Curtain Bluff
Luxury, everything included. Curtain Bluff controls two beaches on the south shore, per Relais & Châteaux. Five Star Alliance describes one as a calm bay for swimming and water sports and the other as facing the surf. It has 72 rooms.
There's a children's camp for ages 3 to 10 and an adults-only pool. Guided snorkel trips to Cades Reef run twice a day, per Expedia. It closes from August 1 to October 21.
