Best Swim-Up Rooms in Aruba (2026)

Aruba is one of the Caribbean's most reliable sun destinations – outside the hurricane belt, low rainfall year-round, and Eagle Beach consistently ranked among the best beaches on earth. Genuine swim-up rooms are rare here, but three confirmed options now exist: JOIA Aruba by Iberostar (Eagle Beach), Secrets Baby Beach (Baby Beach, adults-only), and Hilton Aruba Caribbean Resort with its dedicated swim-up adults-only pool section. Ocean Z Boutique adds an ultra-intimate option. Several well-known resorts (Riu Palace Antillas, Barceló, Hyatt Regency, Divi Aruba Phoenix) have swim-up bars but no swim-out room category – a distinction this guide makes explicit so you book the right thing.

The best swim-up room hotels in Aruba

Confirmed swim-up room categories only. Properties with swim-up bars but no room access (Riu Palace Antillas, Barceló Aruba) are not included – those rooms face the pool, not enter it.

JOIA Aruba by Iberostar

Eagle Beach, 10 min from AUAfrom $655/night AI (peak Dec–Apr)
Swim Out Suite – step from furnished terrace directly into the pool, in-pool lounge chairs, max 4 guests

The top choice for most travelers – prime location on Eagle Beach, the most famous stretch of sand in Aruba. The Swim Out Suite terrace steps directly into the pool, with two in-pool lounge chairs and a separate outdoor patio. All-inclusive. Note: JOIA is not a fully adults-only resort – families are welcome, but the property has a dedicated adults-only section. Swim-out inventory is limited; book 4–6 months ahead for December–April travel.

The only large all-inclusive resort in Aruba with a confirmed, named swim-up room category
Eagle Beach location – consistently ranked one of the world's best beaches, calmer water than Palm Beach
Opened 2024 – genuinely new property with current finishes and infrastructure
Very limited swim-up room inventory – book 4–6 months ahead for peak season (Dec–Apr)
Peak prices ($655–$945/night AI) are high by Aruba standards; shoulder season (May–Nov) is significantly lower

Secrets Baby Beach Aruba

Baby Beach, San Nicolas, 35 min from AUAfrom $870/night AI (peak Dec–Apr)
Preferred Club Junior Suite Swim Out – adults-only AI, terrace opens directly into pool, soaking tub, Preferred Club lounge

The best adults-only swim-out option in Aruba – and increasingly hard to get. The Preferred Club Junior Suite Swim Out is the confirmed swim-out category at Secrets Baby Beach: terrace opens directly into a shared pool, outdoor soaking tub, Preferred Club lounge access and the full Secrets unlimited-luxury all-inclusive. Baby Beach itself is a completely different environment from Palm or Eagle Beach – a sheltered, shallow bay on Aruba's southern tip with calm turquoise water, virtually no waves and a much more remote, low-key atmosphere. The 35-minute transfer from AUA is the trade-off: you're genuinely away from the resort strip. Adults 18+ throughout.

Best Large Resort · Swim-Up Adults-Only Pool

Hilton Aruba Caribbean Resort & Casino

Palm Beach, 5 mi from AUAfrom $350/night
King Room - Swim-Up/Adults Only · King Suite - Swim-Up/Adults Only – two explicit swim-up categories with adults-only pool section

The largest resort on this list with confirmed swim-up rooms. The King Room – Swim-Up/Adults Only and King Suite – Swim-Up/Adults Only are part of a dedicated adults-only section of the resort – a pool area reserved for 18+ guests with swim-up room access. Palm Beach location puts you walkable to Aruba's main strip of restaurants and bars. Well rated on Booking.com, with strong staff, comfort and location scores. Queen Beatrix Airport is 5 miles away. A strong pick for couples who want the full large-resort amenity set (casino, 3 restaurants, spa) with confirmed swim-up access at a lower price point than JOIA.

Best Boutique · Most Exclusive Access

Ocean Z Boutique Hotel

Malmok Beach, 15 min from AUAfrom $400/night room only
Master Suite – 2 suites share a semi-private infinity pool; terrace steps directly into the water

The most intimate swim-up experience in Aruba by a wide margin. Ocean Z is a converted private residence with only a handful of rooms – two Master Suites share a semi-private infinity pool that guests of those suites access directly from their terraces. At most two couples share the pool at any time, which is as close to a private swim-up pool as you can get without booking a private villa. Malmok Beach at Aruba's northern tip is quieter than Palm Beach and Eagle Beach. No all-inclusive board – room-only, so you're budgeting for restaurants. Best for couples who want a genuinely unique, low-key setting over a resort experience.

When to go

December through April is peak season – dry, very little rain, steady Aliz trade winds that keep the heat comfortable. This is also when JOIA's swim-up rooms are hardest to book and most expensive. May through November brings slightly higher humidity and occasional brief showers, but Aruba sits well outside the Caribbean hurricane belt, so the risk of storm disruption is close to zero year-round – a genuine advantage over the Bahamas or Mexico. Shoulder season (May–June, October–November) offers 20–30% lower prices with similar beach conditions. The trade winds blow almost constantly regardless of season, making Aruba one of the Caribbean's most popular kitesurfing destinations and keeping the pool terrace comfortable even in the hottest months.
