Alaia Belize, Autograph Collection
Alaia Belize, Autograph Collection, on Ambergris Caye's San Pedro, confirms its private-pool category directly on its own site: the Oceanfront 3-Bedroom Villa with Plunge Pool, with three ensuite bedrooms, a full kitchen and its own plunge pool on a private terrace, distinct from the resort's three shared pools, including Belize's first suspended, adults-only rooftop pool.
This is the more established of the two confirmed Belize properties, backed by Marriott's Autograph Collection and close to Ambergris Caye's reef diving and snorkeling.
Itz'ana Resort & Residences
Itz'ana Resort & Residences, a Small Luxury Hotels of the World property in Placencia, confirms private pools across two villa categories: Marina Villas with direct marina access, and Beachfront Villas facing the sea, both with their own private pool and outdoor living space.
Placencia's laid-back peninsula is a different pace from Ambergris Caye's dive-town energy, with its own small airstrip a short flight from Belize City.
When to go
December through April is Belize's dry season and the most popular window, with the clearest water for reef diving and snorkeling on Ambergris Caye's Belize Barrier Reef. May–November is wetter and coincides with the Atlantic hurricane season, which peaks August through October. Ambergris Caye is reached via San Pedro Airport (SPR), a short flight or water taxi from Belize City; Placencia has its own small airstrip (PLJ), also served by short domestic flights.
