Q: Can you go to Maya Bay from Phuket?

Every Phi Phi tour names Maya Bay, but it closes for about two months a year and, even when open, you cannot swim there – you view it from a walkway. The tour is still worth it for Phi Phi Leh and Bamboo Island.

Q: Why are the Similan Islands only sometimes available?

The Similan Islands national park closes for roughly five months (about mid-October to mid-May). "From Phuket" also means a two-hour drive north to Khao Lak before you board, so the trips leave very early.
