Best Private Pool Villas in the Bahamas (2026)

Updated August 21, 20267 min read

The Bahamas is 700 islands, but its private pool villas are not spread across them. Three of the four confirmed properties sit within a few miles of each other on New Providence and Paradise Island – Cable Beach and the Ocean Club, essentially the same short stretch of coast. The fourth, The Cove Eleuthera, is the only one that puts you on a genuine out-island, and choosing it means trading restaurants and nightlife for quiet. Entry rates run from about $600 to $1,500 a night.

Those are entry rates outside the December–April peak. At every property here the private pool belongs to a specific villa or suite category, never to the standard rooms – which matters more in the Bahamas than in most places, because two of these four resorts also run large shared pools that photograph almost identically. The private pool villas hub applies the same test everywhere else.

Which Bahamas private pool villa should you book?

For the most complete villa product, book Rosewood Baha Mar. Its Oceanside Three-Bedroom Villa is the entry into a collection where every villa tier includes a private pool or plunge pool plus full butler service, and it sits inside the wider Baha Mar complex with a casino, a golf course and Café Boulud The Bahamas on the doorstep. Check Rosewood Baha Mar availabilityvilla inventory is a small fraction of a very large resort, and winter dates go 60–90 days out.

If you want the island's most historic address instead of its newest, book The Ocean Club on Paradise Island. If you'd rather be somewhere quiet, book The Cove Eleuthera – it's the only out-island option and it undercuts both Nassau luxury resorts by a wide margin. And if you want everything bundled into one adults-only rate, book Sandals Royal Bahamian, the cheapest confirmed private pool in the country.

Rosewood Baha Mar

Rosewood is the Rosewood inside Baha Mar, and that arrangement is the whole pitch. The villas are the most complete private-pool product in the Bahamas – the entry Oceanside Three-Bedroom Villa comes with its own pool or plunge pool, a private outdoor living area and full butler service, and six-bedroom configurations scale up from there without dropping the pool. There's no villa tier here where the pool is the upgrade.

What the villa buys beyond the pool is access to a resort far larger than Rosewood itself. Sitting on Cable Beach inside the Baha Mar complex means a casino, a golf course, a water park and a restaurant lineup that includes Café Boulud The Bahamas, none of which a boutique property of this quality could support alone. Rosewood keeps its own roped-off stretch of sand and its own courtyard pool separate from all of it.

The catch is the same as the appeal. You're on a big resort campus, sharing the wider complex with two sister hotels, and the six-bedroom villas are priced and sized for groups rather than couples. Book this one if you want villa-and-butler privacy with a full resort city attached. Check Rosewood Baha Mar rates – it's the strongest all-round pick here, and it prices like it.

The Ocean Club, A Four Seasons Resort

The Ocean Club is the Bahamas' most storied address, now run by Four Seasons on Paradise Island, next to the Versailles Gardens and a short walk from Cabbage Beach. Its Three- and Four-Bedroom Villas each have a private infinity pool and direct beach access.

Read that sentence carefully, because it's also the constraint. The resort's 90 guest rooms and 12 suites have private terraces or balconies but no private pool – the villas are a separate, much smaller inventory sitting apart from the main room stock. Booking "The Ocean Club" does not get you a pool. Booking a Three- or Four-Bedroom Villa does.

It carries one of the strongest guest ratings of any confirmed private-pool property in the country, with the highest marks going to cleanliness, comfort and location. Book this one if you want history and a Four Seasons operation rather than a purpose-built modern resort. Check Ocean Club availability – a handful of villas against a hundred-plus rooms is the tightest ratio on this page.

The Cove Eleuthera

The Cove is the reason this list isn't just a Nassau guide. It sits on a quiet stretch near Gregory Town on Eleuthera, close to Gaulding Cay Beach and within reach of the Queen's Bath and the Glass Window Bridge – a genuine out-island setting rather than a resort strip.

Two categories qualify. The 3 Bedroom Beachfront Private Pool Villa runs to roughly 3,500 sq ft with its own pool, and the 2 Bedroom Beachfront Infinity Pool Villa is the smaller infinity-edge alternative. Both sit apart from the resort's standard one-bedroom villas and ocean-view suites, none of which include a private pool.

Set expectations on scale. The Cove has two restaurants and a spa, not ten restaurants and a casino, and Eleuthera's pink-sand quiet is the entire point of coming. It's also reached via North Eleuthera Airport, a separate short flight or ferry from Nassau – a real logistical step, not a transfer. Book this one if you want the pool and the silence more than the restaurant list. Check The Cove Eleuthera rates – it's the cheapest genuine out-island private pool in the Bahamas.

Sandals Royal Bahamian

Sandals Royal Bahamian is adults-only and couples-only, all-inclusive, on Cable Beach – and its private-pool category is easy to book wrong, so be precise. The villa suites with a private plunge pool add butler service and a Tranquility Soaking Tub, set in garden surroundings. They are not the same thing as the resort's swim-up rooms, which open onto a shared river pool.

What you're buying is the bundle. Ten restaurants and eight bars are included in the rate, along with the spa, the watersports and the airport shuttle, which is why this comes out as the cheapest confirmed private pool in the country despite being a full-service resort.

Be honest about the trade. Its guest rating is the weakest of the four, particularly on value for money – a real signal, not a rounding error, and worth weighing against the appeal of the all-inclusive adults-only format. Book this one if an all-inclusive couples trip with a private plunge pool is the actual brief. Check Sandals Royal Bahamian rates – just confirm the words "private pool" appear in the category name, not "swim-up."

Heads up

Two resorts here sell rooms that touch water without giving you a private pool. Sandals Royal Bahamian's swim-up rooms open onto a shared river pool – only its villa suites have a private plunge pool. The Ocean Club's 90 rooms and 12 suites have terraces, not pools – only the Three- and Four-Bedroom Villas qualify. Book the category, never the hotel name.

Nassau or an out-island: the real Bahamas decision

The price gap on this page looks like a quality gap. It mostly isn't. It's a geography gap.

Three of these four resorts sit on the same short run of coast around Nassau, competing for the same traveler with the same assets: multiple restaurants, a spa, a casino or a golf course nearby, and an airport twenty minutes away. That density is what you pay the Nassau premium for, and if you want dinner somewhere different every night, it's worth it.

The Cove Eleuthera is the deliberate opposite of all that. A separate flight, two restaurants, no casino, and beaches that stay empty on a Saturday. At roughly half the Rosewood rate it looks like the value pick, but it isn't really competing – it's a different trip that happens to also have a private pool.

So decide the island before you compare the rates. Nassau if you want the resort infrastructure; Eleuthera if the infrastructure is what you're escaping. For comparison at a similar tier, Grand Cayman's private pool villas run an even shorter list on one beach, while Antigua and Barbados both start lower. The Caribbean private pool villas hub compares the region island by island.

When to go

December through April is the dry season and the best window: lower humidity, minimal rain, and the most reliable weather for both Nassau and Eleuthera. It's also peak, with the highest rates and the earliest sell-outs around the winter holidays – book villas at Rosewood Baha Mar and The Ocean Club 60–90 days ahead for those dates.

May, June and November are the value months, with a good weather-to-rate balance before the pattern shifts. June through November is hurricane season, and September carries the highest risk of the year – worth real weight in the Bahamas, which sits directly in the Atlantic track rather than south of it.

Plan the flights around the property, not the reverse. Nassau's Lynden Pindling International (NAS) serves the three New Providence and Paradise Island resorts, while The Cove Eleuthera needs North Eleuthera (ELH), a short hop or ferry beyond Nassau.
