If you want a private pool in Fiji, skip the overwater bures – none of them has one. The pools are on the beach. Six Senses Fiji on Malolo is the best bet for most couples: every villa has its own pool, and it's a short boat ride from Nadi. For a private island with nobody else on it, book Kokomo – Laucala Island, the other private-island pick, is closed until February 2027.

Which Fiji private pool villa should you book?
Decide how far from Nadi you'll go. The Mamanucas are a boat ride. Kadavu and Laucala are a flight.
For most couples, book Six Senses Fiji. Every villa has a private pool, and you're on the beach the same afternoon you land. Check Six Senses availability.
For an adults-only stay, book a Deluxe Beachfront Bure at Likuliku. It's on the same island, with a plunge pool steps from the sand.

Fiji's overwater bures don't have private pools. Likuliku's plunge pools are on its beachfront bures, and Marriott Momi Bay's overwater bures have none. Book land villas for a pool.
Six Senses Fiji
The couples' booking.
Six Senses sits on Malolo Island in the Mamanuca group, a short boat or helicopter transfer from Nadi. All of its villas and multi-bedroom residences come with a private pool.
The one-bedroom villas are the ones couples book:
- Hideaway Pool Villa and Beachfront Pool Villa – about 1,195 sq ft, each with a private plunge pool of around 20 m²
- Hideaway Pool Suite – about 1,604 sq ft, with a private pool and more space inside
Families and groups can step up to residences of three to five bedrooms, each with its own pool.
No second flight, no seaplane.

Likuliku Lagoon Resort
The adults-only booking.
Likuliku is also on Malolo, and it's best known for Fiji's overwater bures. The overwater bures don't have pools, though. The ones that do are on the sand.
There are 29 Deluxe Beachfront Bures, each with a private plunge pool, a daybed retreat and an outdoor shower in a secluded courtyard.
The resort is adults only, which suits a honeymoon.

Kokomo Private Island
The private-island booking.
Kokomo is a private island in the Kadavu group, in Fiji's south, beside the Great Astrolabe Reef. Getting there means a connecting flight or seaplane beyond Nadi.
That distance buys you space. It has around 20 beachfront villas and five hilltop residences, and every one has a private infinity pool and garden. Villas run from one to three bedrooms, residences up to six.
The reef is the other draw, and diving is a big part of a stay here.

Vomo Island Resort
The family booking.
Vomo is a private island in the Mamanucas, set up for families with a kids' club. Not every villa has a pool, so book by name.
The ones that do:
- Two-Bedroom Family Pool Villas and Rocks Villas – a fenced plunge pool of about 5 × 3.2 m, plus a separate shallow paddle pool for small children
- Beachfront Villas and Havens – private pools
- Private residences such as The Royal, The Residence and The Reef House – large private pools and more bedrooms

Nanuku Resort
The no-transfer booking.
Nanuku is on Viti Levu, Fiji's main island, along a long beach at Pacific Harbour. You reach it by road from Nadi, not by boat or plane.
Every suite, villa and residence has a private plunge pool or spa pool:
- Beachfront Pool Suite – about 60 m² inside, with a plunge pool in a private garden and a poolside bure
- One- and Two-Bedroom Villas, garden or beachfront – 84 to 172 m², each with a private pool
- Residences on the beach or clifftop, for bigger groups
Some rooms come with a spa pool rather than a plunge pool. Check the category if you want to swim.

Laucala Island
The no-limits booking, and it's closed for now.
Laucala is a private island off Taveuni, around 45 minutes from Nadi by private flight. It has just 25 villas – beachside, hilltop and one owner's residence – and each has a private pool, a sundeck and an outdoor bath. Every villa comes with a dedicated butler.
Laucala closed to guests in early 2026 for a year-long renovation and ended its management deal with COMO Hotels – you'll still see "COMO Laucala Island" in older guides, but the resort now runs independently. Bookings reopen from February 2027. The ~$5,600 rate above is the pre-closure figure.

Laucala Island is closed until February 2027. For a Fiji private island this year, book Kokomo instead.
Mamanucas or the outer islands
The Mamanucas – Six Senses, Likuliku and Vomo – are a short boat ride from Nadi. You trade a little seclusion for easy transfers.
The outer islands – Kokomo and Laucala – need a flight. You get reef, space and far fewer people, though Laucala itself is closed until February 2027.
If you can book only one, book Six Senses Fiji. Every villa has its own pool, and you'll be in it by lunchtime.

When to go
May to October is the dry season and the best window. Humidity drops, trade winds blow and rain is rare.
November to April is the wet season. Rain usually comes in short afternoon bursts, but January to March carries the highest cyclone risk.
Getting there: fly into Nadi (NAN). The Mamanuca resorts are a boat or helicopter transfer. Kokomo needs a connecting flight or seaplane, Laucala a private flight, and Nanuku is a drive.
