Boracay prices its private pools backwards. Three hotels sell a room or villa with a pool of its own, and the cheapest of them – Crimson Resort and Spa Boracay, from around $307 – costs roughly a quarter of the island's most famous option. Meanwhile Crimson's own most expensive suite has no private pool at all; the words on the booking page are doing more work here than the price.

Three, not one – earlier versions of this guide listed only Shangri-La. All three are full hotels, not the whole-house rentals that fill most Boracay "private pool villa" searches. Which Boracay hotel should you book?
Book Crimson Resort and Spa Boracay. Its Suite with Plunge Pool is around 54 m² from roughly $307 – the cheapest genuine private pool on Boracay by a wide margin – and its Villa with Plunge Pool steps up to about 85 m². The resort sits on its own beach near Punta Bunga, about 10 minutes from Puka Beach. Check Crimson availability – and read the next section before you click anything, because Crimson's most expensive suite is the one without a pool.
If the budget is open, book Shangri-La Boracay – the island's highest-rated resort, with four separate private-pool categories and airport transfers included. If you need three or four bedrooms under one roof, book Aqua Boracay – its Presidential suites are the only multi-bedroom private-pool option on the island that is a hotel rather than a rental.

Boracay's most expensive "pool" rooms are often the ones without a private pool. Crimson's Suite Sea View with Pool Access costs more than its Villa with Plunge Pool and gives you the shared pool. Shangri-La's Tree House Villa has no pool either, despite the name.
The word that costs you a pool: "Pool Access"
This is the whole game on Boracay, and it is worth 30 seconds before booking.
"Pool Access" and "Pool View" both mean the shared resort pool. At Crimson, the Suite Sea View with Pool Access is around $480 a night – more than the Villa with Plunge Pool at roughly $446, and well over the Suite with Plunge Pool at roughly $307. You can pay the most and get the least private water on the property.
Aqua Boracay runs the same pattern at scale: seven of its nine categories are Pool View suites, from the Premier Suite One Bedroom Pool View upward, and only the two Presidential suites have a pool of their own.
The reliable test is the same as everywhere in this silo. Look for "Plunge Pool", "Private Pool" or "Pool Villa" in the category name – not "Pool Access", not "Pool View", and not "Villa" on its own, which at Shangri-La attaches to a Tree House Villa with no pool.
Crimson Resort and Spa Boracay
The value answer, and the one that changes this list. Crimson is a 192-room beachfront resort on the island's quieter northwest side near Punta Bunga, about 10 minutes from Puka Beach and a drive from D'Mall and White Beach.
Two categories have a private pool. The Suite with Plunge Pool is around 54 m² from roughly $307, and the Villa with Plunge Pool is around 85 m² from roughly $446. Both are dramatically cheaper than anything comparable on the island.
Everything else on the page is shared water: Deluxe Hillview, Deluxe Premiere, Suite, Suite with Sea View and – the expensive trap – Suite Sea View with Pool Access.
The trade is location. This is not a White Beach address, and Boracay's restaurant and bar strip is a tricycle or shuttle ride away rather than a walk.

Shangri-La Boracay
The island's best-rated resort, on its own cove at Punta Bunga, with two private beaches and round-trip Caticlan airport transfers included in the rate – which on Boracay, where arrival means a van and a boat, is worth more than it sounds.
It has four private-pool categories, not two: the Loft Garden (around 215 m², from roughly $1,159), the One-Bedroom Pool Villa (around 265 m²), the Loft Villa (around 215 m²) and the Two Bedroom Pool Villa at around 700 m². Earlier versions of this guide said the Loft Garden had no private pool – it does, and it is the cheapest way into a private pool here.
The category to avoid if a pool is the point is the Tree House Villa: around 215 m², a little under the Loft Garden's rate, and no private pool despite being the only other unit called a villa.
The honest caveat is arithmetic. Shangri-La's entry private-pool rate is roughly four times Crimson's, for a better-rated resort and a better location, but the same fundamental product.

Aqua Boracay
The group answer. Aqua sits on Bulabog Beach, the island's windward side and its kitesurfing center, with a private beach and shuttles to D'Mall.
Only its top two categories have a private pool, and they are large: the Presidential Ibiza Suite Three Bedroom Sea View with Private Pool at around 609 m² from roughly $1,538, and the Presidential Miami Suite Four Bedroom Sea View with Private Pool at around 639 m². For a group of six to eight splitting a rate, that arithmetic works very differently than it reads.
Everything below them – seven categories, from the Deluxe Room up through the three-bedroom Premier Suite – is Pool View, sharing the resort's pools.

What didn't qualify
Two named properties were checked and left out, plus a whole category of listings.
7Stones Boracay on Bulabog is well reviewed and sells a 1 Bedroom Premier Suite with Jacuzzi and a 2 Bedroom Family Suite with Jacuzzi. Both are jacuzzis, and Booking flags them pool-view only – the property's swimming pool is shared. A jacuzzi is not a pool.
Most Boracay "private pool villa" search results are whole-house rentals, not hotels – Casablanca Boracay, Paradise Blanc, Luxury Villa: Private Pool & Beach Retreat and similar single-unit listings. They may well be pleasant, and several genuinely have a private pool, but they are one-property rentals rather than hotels with bookable room categories, which puts them outside what this guide covers.
That distinction is why this list has three entries where a general search suggests dozens.
What to do beyond the pool
A private pool covers the mornings; the water outside the villa covers the rest of the trip. Island hopping is the daytime boat trip covering Crystal Cove and Puka Beach – the latter a short drive from both Crimson and Shangri-La – and the evening belongs to a sunset cruise or the shorter, traditional paraw sailing. For a short thrill, parasailing, helmet diving and jet ski sessions all run from offshore stations off White Beach.
When to go
November to April is Boracay's dry season and the window worth booking: calm water on White Beach, reliable sun, and the amihan wind that makes Bulabog the kitesurfing side of the island.
May to October brings the southwest monsoon, with more rain and rougher water on the west coast, heaviest from July to September. The trade-off is real: rates fall and the island empties, and an afternoon shower matters less when the pool is yours.
Boracay closes to vehicles in a way most islands don't – Caticlan Airport (MPH) is about 15 minutes from the jetty port, then a short boat crossing, and Kalibo Airport is the cheaper alternative with a road transfer of roughly 90 minutes. Shangri-La includes the round trip in its rate; the others don't, so price it in.
