Adults-Only Resorts in Jamaica: Six Worth Booking, and What to Check First

Several adults-only resorts that older Jamaica guides still recommend – Hyatt Zilara Rose Hall, both Secrets and Breathless Montego Bay – were closed by Hurricane Melissa and are reopening in stages. Plenty of others were open when we checked. As a couple, book Couples Swept Away: 312 suites on Seven Mile Beach, premium-brand spirits and scuba included, 18 and over, couples only. Not a couple? Those are approximate nightly rates for two, all-inclusive, before tax. All six were open when we checked, are adults-only across the whole property, and each has its own beach. The adults-only resorts hub runs the same test in other destinations.

Which adults-only resort in Jamaica should you book?

As a couple, book Couples Swept Away. It has the beach Jamaica is famous for, an all-inclusive that covers premium drinks, unlimited scuba and golf, and a no-tipping policy, at well under half the rate of Sandals Royal Plantation. Check Couples Swept Away availability before you compare further – December to April is high season, and older lists may still point you to Montego Bay resorts that Hurricane Melissa closed.

Not a couple, or traveling with a friend? Book Princess Senses The Mangrove. Couples Resorts takes couples only, and Sandals is built around two. Princess has no couples rule and offers group rates for adults.

Couples Swept Away

The couples' default. Couples Swept Away sits on 19 acres of Seven Mile Beach in Negril, with 312 bungalow-style suites, seven restaurants, eight bars and three pools. Couples calls its sports and fitness complex the island's largest.

The rules are simple. Guests must be 18 or over, and all four Couples resorts are reserved for couples. Under-18s come on property only for a wedding ceremony.

The plan is what sets Couples apart. Unlimited premium-brand spirits, scuba diving, watersports, golf and tennis are included, and so is the transfer from Montego Bay airport. Couples runs a no-tipping policy. Couples lists area excursions in the stay, but a guide arranged through the tour desk costs extra.

Sandals Royal Plantation

The butler booking. Sandals Royal Plantation sits on a coral bluff above a private cove beach near Ocho Rios. Every room is a butler suite, and every one has an ocean view.

Guests must be 18 or over. Sandals is built around couples, but it says adults traveling together, friends included, are welcome. Meals, drinks, water sports, scuba, land sports, airport transfers and entertainment are all in the rate.

This is the most expensive resort here, from around $1,040 a night for two. Book this one if you want a butler with every suite and don't mind paying for it. Check Sandals Royal Plantation rates.

Princess Senses The Mangrove

The private-pool booking. Princess Senses The Mangrove is an 18-and-over resort at Green Island in Hanover, on the northwest coast between Montego Bay and Negril. Princess says the beach is right at the hotel.

For the "adults-only with a private pool" search, start here. The Over Water Villa with Infinity Pool is a bookable category, and so are Swim Out junior suites that step into a pool. Platinum rooms add a private pool area with its own bar and a butler-served beach section.

One thing to know. Princess Grand Jamaica, a family resort, is next door. Senses guests can use Princess Grand's facilities, but Princess Grand guests can't come into Senses. Meals and select drinks are included.

Riu Montego Bay

The short-transfer, high-energy booking. Riu Montego Bay sits on a white-sand beach at Mahoe Bay, a short drive from Montego Bay airport. It's adults-only, minimum age 18, with no couples rule.

RIU runs it as a 24-hour all-inclusive. There are five pools, one with a swim-up bar, the Splash Water World water park, four bars and the RIU Party program.

That's the trade-off too. This is a lively resort, not a quiet one. From around $732 a night for two. Book this one if you'd rather be at the pool bar within the hour of landing. Check Riu Montego Bay rates.

Couples Tower Isle

The value booking, and the au naturel one. Couples Tower Isle is the brand's flagship, on the coast near Ocho Rios: 226 rooms and suites, seven restaurants, six bars and four pools. Booking.com describes it as right on the beach.

The draw is offshore. A small boat runs guests to a private au naturel island with its own pool and swim-up bar, open for nude sunbathing from 9:00 to 17:00. You don't have to go. Eight Oasis Spa Villas come with plunge pools and unlimited spa treatments.

Same Couples rules as Swept Away: 18 and over, couples only, premium bar and scuba included. The transfer is longer, about 1 hour 45 minutes from Montego Bay. Ian Fleming airport is 15 minutes away.

Bahia Principe Escape Runaway Bay

The quiet north-coast booking. This is the former Bahia Principe Luxury Runaway Bay, renamed under Bahia Principe's adults-only Escape line. Booking.com still lists it under the old web address. It reopened on April 1, 2026, after the hurricane closure.

Bahia Principe calls it an 18-and-over beachfront resort with access to its own bay, on a 24-hour all-inclusive plan. It sits on the north coast between Montego Bay and Ocho Rios.

The family resort next door is now Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica. From around $612 a night for two. Book this one if you're friends traveling together and want calm over a party. Check Bahia Principe Escape Runaway Bay rates.

Excellence Oyster Bay

The luxury pick with its own plunge pool. Excellence Oyster Bay sits on a private peninsula near Falmouth, about 30 minutes from Montego Bay airport, ringed by sea and mangrove lagoons. The minimum age is 18.

Its pool rooms are the draw. Junior suites with a plunge pool, some of them oceanfront, run up to Excellence Club Beach House suites by the sand, and there's a Beach Villa with Private Pool.

It isn't in the table above because we couldn't find a current Booking.com listing to price it. Book this one if you want luxury and your own plunge pool. Check Excellence Oyster Bay rates.

Hedonism II and the clothing-optional resorts

Hedonism II is in Negril. It describes itself as adults-only, clothing-optional and lifestyle-friendly, the industry term for resorts that welcome swingers. Minimum age is 18.

Its 280 rooms are split into clothing-optional and nude sections, and so are its six pools, two of them with swim-up bars. Clothing is required in the restaurants and the lobby. Singles are welcome, at 150% of the per-person rate. The grounds sit on a bluff with steps and no elevators.

It suits open-minded couples and singles who want that atmosphere. We couldn't find it on Booking.com or Expedia, so book through Hedonism II's own site.

Two quieter options exist. Grand Lido Negril Au-Naturel reopened on August 25, 2026: 26 oceanfront suites, clothing-free, 21 and over. It's an enclave inside the Royalton Negril complex, and its guests share the family resort's facilities. Couples Tower Isle's island and Couples Sans Souci's Sunset Beach are au naturel zones inside otherwise clothed resorts.

Adults-only, with a family resort next door

Several Jamaican adults-only hotels share a site with a family resort. That isn't a problem by itself. What matters is whether you'll meet children in places you're paying to use.

• Ocean Eden Bay (Coral Spring, Trelawny) is 18 and over, with swim-up junior suites. But H10 says some of its activities and facilities sit in areas of Ocean Coral Spring that are open to under-18s. If that doesn't bother you, check Ocean Eden Bay rates.
• Royalton Hideaway Negril and Royalton Hideaway Blue Waters are 18-and-over hotels beside family Royalton resorts.
• Riu Palace Aquarelle in Falmouth is a family resort with a kids' club. Only its swim-up junior suites are adults-only.

Which Sandals, which Couples, which RIU?

Sandals: the adults-only Sandals resorts in Jamaica are Negril, Ochi, Dunn's River, Royal Plantation, South Coast, Montego Bay and Royal Caribbean. They reopened on different dates after the hurricane, so check Sandals' advisory page for what is selling. Which adults-only resorts did Hurricane Melissa close?

Most of the closures were around Montego Bay and Rose Hall. These resorts reopened in stages or are still reopening, so we keep them out of the table until we have confirmed they are selling rooms.

• JOIA Rose Hall by Iberostar, the former Iberostar Grand Rose Hall, which was also renovated.

When to go

December to April is high season: dry, sunny, and the most expensive stretch. Couples puts February as the coolest month and July–August as the warmest.

The Atlantic hurricane season runs June through November, and Melissa landed in late October 2025. Rates drop in that window. In our checks, a September weeknight came in below a November one at most of these resorts. If you book then, take refundable rates.
